Hi, I'm Matteo Cortinovis — though you might know me as Waitate, the name I use as a producer, mixing, and mastering engineer.

I grew up in a small town in Northern Italy and moved to London in 2016 to study music production and work professionally as a sound engineer. Since then, I've been fortunate to collaborate with a wide range of artists and musicians across genres.

Gravitating around The Friary Studios, I’ve worked on projects featuring artists such as Josh McKenzie (MckNasty), Jords, Jordan Mackampa, Joseph Lawrence, Charlie Allen, Robin Katz, Chrissi, Dexter Hercules, James McCartney, Ashaine White, The Halfway Kid, and many more.

Recent work includes a series of live videos for Victor Ray, as well as a collaboration with WesLi D on a track I produced called Somewhere Warm.

In the live sound world, I’ve worked on masterclasses involving artists and professionals like Ash Soan, Annabel Williams, Simon Rix (Kaiser Chiefs), Piri & Tommy, Pat Pattison, Mark Pusey (Ed Sheeran), and Sandy Beales (One Direction).

My approach to music is rooted in understanding the artist's vision. Every project is unique, and my goal is to enhance the sound in a way that stays true to the artist’s intent.
