Hi, I'm Matteo Cortinovis—though you might know me as Waitate, the name I use as a producer, mixing, and mastering engineer.

I grew up in a small town in Northern Italy and moved to London to study music production and work professionally as a sound engineer. Since then, I've been fortunate to collaborate with a wide range of artists and musicians across genres.

Gravitating around 'The Friary Studios' (MK), I've been involved in projects featuring artists and professionals such as Josh McKenzie 'MckNasty' (Wretch 32), Jords, Jordan Mackampa, Joseph Lawrence, Charlie Allen (Incognito, Tom Misch), Robin Katz, Chrissi, Dexter Hercules (Ed Sheeran), James McCartney, Ashaine White, The Halfway Kid, and many more.

In the live sound world, I've worked on masterclasses for Ash Soan (Adele), Annabel Williams (The X Factor), Simon Rix (Kaiser Chiefs), Piri & Tommy, Pat Pattison, Mark Pusey (Ed Sheeran), Sandy Beales (One Direction), Fraser T. Smith (Adele, Stormzy), Michael League (Snarky Puppy), Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire).

My approach to mixing and production centers on warmth, clarity, and precision, while always leaving room for creativity. I blend analog and digital processing to capture the best of both worlds, and I work to translate the artist’s vision as faithfully as possible—ensuring every project retains its original character.
